OneWingz and "Poverty Sucks" join hands

Jaci Tibbit is a multiple winner of numerous beauty pageants, such as Mrs Johannesburg and Mrs Gauteng, and is currently Mrs African United Continent. Jaci uses her platform to change lives for the better wherever she can, and her latest drive is “Poverty Sucks”, where she is aiming to raise R1 million against poverty, by selling lollipops to whichever individuals or corporates will buy them. Jaci came to visit our Mix 93.8FM Just Plain Drive Show, and OneWingz bought 500 lollipops, raising R5 000 for Poverty Sucks.

ONEWingz steps in to assist KZN Flood Relief!

After KZN’s worst flood devastation ever, OneWingz decided to join hands with another radio station in Durban, to assist with flood relief efforts. Darren called his former producer, WR van der Merwe, who is now the East Coast Radio Breakfast Show producer, and asked what OneWingz could do to assist, using the large presence and network of ECR in that area, as a conduit for our assistance.

A Brand New Mobility Scooter for Debbie and Ronelle Shaw!

Debbie and Ronelle Shaw are a happily married couple, who have gone through a torrid couple of years. They are currently living in separate places, to enable Ronelle to work to nring in their only income, while Debbie is unable to work because of disability. Furthermore, Debbie is not mobile and uses a mobility scooter to get around, but this had broken down. So SilverStar Pays Forward stepped in and bought Debbie a brand new mobility scooter worth nearly R20 000!

KZN Relief Donation Drive

At times of disaster, there is no more powerful medium than radio. Many think different stations are always at each other’s throats, (and in some cases that may be true), but when disaster strikes, or desperation exists, there’s no medium more equipped to galvanise and mobilise a community than radio.

A ONEWingz Recipient Pays it Forward Himself

This is an amazing story of one of our OneWingz suppliers – Gary Combrinck – who had previously assisted some of our recipients when they needed any form of logistical or repair services when it came to their vehicles.

When Marlene and her team at Rivonia Crossing SuperSpar celebrated their first birthday recently, they did it by approaching OneWingz try and change someone’s life for the better, with a 2 minute Trolley Dash through their store.

Christopher Duma gets support for the year, and Oni gets to realise his soccer dream

Christopher and Christina Duma used to live in Dobsonville, Soweto, with their son, Oni, and had just started making their way in life, moving to a new apartment on the West Rand, when Covid hit. Christopher – a security guard – was retrenched, and Christina became the sole breadwinner of the family.
